At Raquel John Events, planning is never just about logistics. It is about shaping experiences that uplift, include, and inspire. This Saturday, October 4, Flow Fest 2025 will bring that vision to life at The Rose in Brampton.
Flow Fest will begin with an adaptive concert, a relaxed performance designed for guests with dementia, autism, or sensory needs. Joy Lapps described it best in her Flow 93.5 interview when she said, “We really need to make more space for people with different abilities.” For us as planners, that means accessibility is never left to chance. Our team has worked with partners in advance to make sure the space, seating, and flow of the day support guests with different mobility and sensory needs.
The day will also feature hands-on learning. Joy will lead From Skin to Steel and Beyond, connecting participants with the sound and story of the steel pan. Larnell Lewis will guide a drum set masterclass that shows how small changes can unlock creativity. “The main goal is to show people that creativity is inside of them, and that we can just shape it and mould it,” he explained. Apart of the planning process for Joy and Larnell has been making sure these educational sessions fit seamlessly into the schedule so that guests of all ages can participate without feeling rushed or excluded.
One of the highlights will be the Rising Star Showcase, where four young drummers under 16 will perform. As Larnell shared, “They’ll be playing their hearts out.” Along with the Sponsors Lounge, these moments reflect a belief we hold closely at RJE: accessibility is also about equity and opportunity.
Partnership has been essential in bringing Flow Fest to life. Joy spoke about working with Brampton over the last four years, noting, “Brampton is really intent on making The Rose become a space where we all feel at home.” Our role as planners has been to bring these partnerships together, coordinating schedules, supporting artists, and aligning sponsors so the day runs seamlessly.
From adaptive concerts to youth showcases, from masterclasses to world-class performances, Flow Fest 2025 is the kind of event we are proud to stand behind. It reflects what we believe event planning can and should be: inclusive, intentional, and deeply rooted in community. For our team, it is also an opportunity to set an example for the wider industry about what accessibility-first event design looks like.
