The Voices Unheard

Raquel John Events partnered with Kearie Daniel and the Black Women’s Institute for Health to produce The Voices Unheard: Canada’s First National Health Survey of Black Women, an elevated evening centered on storytelling, knowledge sharing, and the celebration of an important national milestone.

The event marked the successful completion of this essential work and created space to reflect, connect, and acknowledge the voices at the heart of the survey. Designed with intention, the evening brought together community members, leaders, and partners in an environment that balanced cultural grounding with thoughtful program flow.

The program featured a libation ceremony, influential and transformative keynote speakers, and empowering panel discussions rooted in lived experience. Guests also experienced powerful vocal performances by Jully Black, grounding drumming by DOAHL Dance Academy, and dynamic hosting by Andrea Bain, each element contributing to the rhythm and energy of the evening.

This event was delivered through the collective efforts of the Raquel John Events team, whose expertise in event logistics, production coordination, and on-site management ensured a seamless experience for speakers, performers, guests, and partners.

Events like The Voices Unheard demonstrate how strategic event planning and production can support research initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and sponsor visibility while creating meaningful, culturally grounded experiences.

Thank you to Kearie Daniel and the Black Women’s Institute for Health for the trust placed in our team. This was a meaningful moment to support and bring to life.
